What fluid is used in
the Moveable Mass Racket?
The fluid is a light inert oil. It has a very low viscosity
and moves freely inside the containment tube.
What does the fluid do?
When the ball is hit off-center, the fluid is set into motion, acting like
a gyroscope to reduce the twisting force caused by the off-center-hit.
The fluid also absorbs vibrations caused by hitting the ball near the
tip or throat of the racket. It is a much more effective vibration damper
than the plugs applied to the strings near the throat of the racket.
Why are the tubes only
partially filled with fluid?
The tubes are only partially filled to allow the fluid to move freely when
an off-center-hit occurs.
Will I still be able to
hit with top-spin or back-spin with the Gyro-Stabilized racket.
Yes, it takes a while to get used to, but you will be able to
hit with even more top-spin and back-spin with the moveable mass racket.
What are the tubes made
of and how long does the fluid last?
The tubes are made of a tough nylon and are protected from wear
by the frame. Leaking and migration of the fluid from the tubes is
minimal and the fluid will last for many years.
What does the moveable
mass do for power and control?
The moveable mass racket provides better power and control because
it reduces the twist for off-center-hits.
Will the moveable mass
racket help my tennis elbow?
Reduction of the twist for off-center-hits will reduce the likelihood
of developing tennis elbow. In addition, it will reduce the likelihood
of further injury for those who already have sustained elbow injuries. However,
the moveable mass racket can not cure nor totally prevent tennis elbow,
wrist, or shoulder injuries.
